Cynthia (Cindy) was born in Lynn, Massachusetts on April 4, 1951, to Normand Alfred Gautreau and Claire Lucille (Saulnier) Gautreau. At the age of 15, Cindy moved to McAllen, Texas with her family. In 2016, she relocated to Fulshear, Texas. Cindy married Roy Cain and had two children: Sacha Elizabeth and Joshua Ryan. Cindy and Roy have four grandchildren: Logan Gabriel, Brandon Miguel, Hayden Normand and Claire Michelle.
Some of Cindy’s favorite pastimes are reading and playing solitaire on her I-Pad. She has also developed quite a talent for painting with acrylics. Among Cindy’s greatest accomplishments are teaching at the college level for 15 years and being the principal of a Montessori school for 13 years. Under her leadership, the Montessori school became a model of excellence for other aspiring educational endeavors. Cindy’s favorite cause is the Center for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque, New Mexico – an educational nonprofit that introduces spiritual seekers to the contemplative Christian path of transformation.
When Cindy recalls some of her favorite childhood memories - which rival even the excitement of Christmas - they would have to be the many Fourth of July’s spent in the Fay Estate enjoying the parades, races, block dances and, of course, the fireworks. Growing up, Cindy also spent many enjoyable summer vacations with her family waterskiing on Lake Winnipesaukee in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Cindy’s “best vacation ever” was spent on a houseboat on the Kentucky River with her grandchildren. Cindy is proud to declare, “Like my mom and dad before me, my greatest sources of happiness have been my children, their spouses and my amazing grandchildren! Life is so wonderful with them in it.”
Cindy’s personal motto? “Be kind.”
