Ronny “Chipper” Lord was born on September 12, 1953, in Lynn, Massachusetts, first born to Richard (Dick) and Victorine (Vicky) Lord. In his adult years, Ronny also lived in Revere, Massachusetts, as well as North Conway, Tamworth and Keene, New Hampshire.
Growing up, Ronny had a great interest in just about any sport. He enjoyed and excelled in swimming, diving, skiing and baseball. In fact, Ronny played baseball for many years with Lynn Parks, as well as in high school.
Hands down, Ronny’s favorite vacations were spent in the New Hampshire mountains. He loved camping and hiking and was definitely in his element while outdoors, communing with nature. However, when family activities brought Ronny indoors, he thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of marathon card games. His specialties were poker, and kitty whist. When it came to playing cards, losing was not an option for Ronny; he was a tough competitor - just like his dad. His sister, Gloria, fondly recalls, “Only the best card players could partner with my brother Ronny, and - lucky for me - I was one of the few acceptable ones.”
Sadly, in 2013, Ronny died unexpectedly at the age of 60. He and his exuberant spirit are dearly missed by friends and family, who remain grateful for all the special times they were able to spend with him.
